About this protocol
This protocol covers keeping email, AI chats, and internet traffic private. It relies on end-to-end encrypted services, where only you (and the people you are talking to) can read the content, not the company running the service.
It also uses a no-logs VPN, which encrypts your connection and hides your browsing from your internet provider and the networks you connect to.
I’m a layperson, not a doctor, financial advisor, or lawyer. Nothing here is advice. Do your own research and talk to a professional about your own situation.
Products & Services I Use
Proton (Lumo)
What it is: Proton is a Swiss company offering end-to-end encrypted email (Proton Mail) plus Drive, Pass, VPN, Calendar, and more. Lumo is Proton’s AI assistant; Proton says it keeps no chat logs and doesn’t train on your chats.
Why I use it: I have a Proton Unlimited subscription and enjoy using it for personal email. The part I enjoy most however is Lumo, the end to end encrypted private A.I. chatbot. Proton says it keeps no chat logs and does not train on your chats. In fact, due to the end to end encryption, no one at Proton can even see your chats. I enjoy having the option of using A.I. with this level of privacy, especially if I want to discuss personal matters.
Mullvad VPN
What it is: A VPN service you sign up for with an account number instead of an email address.
Why I use it: I began using Mullvad VPN after Jack Dorsey, founder of Cash App, stated it was the “best VPN by far”. Mullvad VPN is audited and shown to keep no logs and have end to end encryption. I consider this a hedge against dystopian levels of corporate and/or government surveillance. I believe that using a quality VPN such as Mullvad can help protect me as a consumer from being targeted by aggressive ads personalized to my behavioral profile and from surveillance pricing.
